1937 Gold Proof Five Sovereign Graded NGC PF64+ ULTRA CAMEO
Obverse:
The bare head of the King facing left. The small letters H.P. standing for Humphrey Paget on the truncation. Legend: GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX: F: D: IND: IMP
Reverse:
St George slaying the dragon with sword. The date is shown below the exergue/ground line and initials B.P. for Benedetto Pistrucci to the right.
Condition:
The fields are deeply mirrored and the designs heavily frosted for a bold contrast on both the Obverse and Reverse of the coin. Less than a quarter of all 1937 Five Sovereigns attain the Ultra Cameo designation and are therefore coveted.

Graded by NGC International as Proof 64+ Ultra Cameo. NGC assigns a + Plus grade to coins at the high end of their assigned grade, approaching the quality requirements for the next grade. For example, a coin graded NGC PF 64 is close to the quality of a coin graded NGC PF 65. In addition to their superior technical merit, coins that receive a + Plus grade must have above-average eye appeal for the grade.
