1887 Victoria Gold Half Sovereign Jubilee Portrait Hooked J NGC MS61
Obverse:
Bust of the Queen facing left wearing a small crown, veiled and with ribbon and star of the Garter and the Victoria and Albert Order. The small letters J.E.B. for Joseph Edgar Boehm in relief at the bottom of the shoulder.
Hooked J type with close initials on truncation, Marsh 478A Rarity 5 - Dish L502. Super rare half sovereign in a lovely grade, Marsh states fewer than 5-10 examples known and this is likely the finest graded example.
Reverse:
The Ensigns Armorial within a garnished shield surmounted by an imperial crown.
